Common questions
A little clarity
before you dive in.
Here is what we can share about the planned launch. Facility details and the lesson schedule will be announced once they are confirmed.
Where and when will lessons start?
Trident is preparing to launch year-round indoor swim lessons in Greater Boston, with a focus on Middlesex County and nearby communities. The facility and start schedule are not confirmed yet. Join the interest list to hear when those details are ready.
What ages and abilities are welcome?
Launch lessons are planned for children ages 3–12, teens ages 13–17, and adults ages 18+. Children may use group, semi-private, or private formats. Teens and adults are offered private and semi-private lessons at launch. Swimmers may be learning for the first time or working on more advanced technique.
What about swimmers under age 3?
Regular lessons for swimmers under 3 are not currently planned for launch. We would still love to hear from you. Interest from families will help guide future early-years programming.
How do I know which level to choose?
You do not need to choose a level to join the interest list. When lesson options are ready, Trident will learn more about your swimmer’s experience and comfort, then recommend a starting level. Families can share their preferred lesson format.
How long are lessons, and how big are the classes?
Each format includes one 30-minute lesson each week. Small groups are for ages 3–12, with a maximum of three swimmers around ages 3–5 and four swimmers around ages 6–12. Semi-private lessons have two compatible swimmers; private lessons are one-to-one. Teen and adult lessons are private or semi-private at launch.
How does Trident decide who belongs in a group?
We look at both swimming ability and age/developmental fit. Preferred group ranges are roughly ages 3–5, 6–8, and 9–12, but they are flexible. A swimmer near an age boundary may fit naturally with the next group when ability, maturity, size, confidence, learning needs, goals, and group dynamics make it a better match. We generally avoid large developmental age gaps simply to fill a class.
What is Dynamic Swim Instruction?
The Trident Method provides a structured progression, while Dynamic Swim Instruction allows instructors to adjust how a skill is taught. That may mean changing a cue, demonstration, pace, activity, repetition, or feedback based on what helps the swimmer or group learn.
Does Trident offer Adaptive Aquatics?
Yes. Our planned launch includes Adaptive Aquatics for swimmers who benefit from additional instructional adaptations or support. It may take place in an appropriate group, semi-private, or private lesson within the launch age and format options. Individualized Swim Plans are available at no additional cost and are standard for Adaptive Aquatics swimmers.
Does Trident run in sessions?
No. Trident uses rolling enrollment rather than fixed seasonal sessions. Once enrollment opens, families can join an appropriate available lesson throughout the year instead of waiting for the start of a new session. Swimmers then continue in their recurring weekly lesson while enrolled.
Does tuition change in a five-lesson month?
No. Expected tuition is a consistent monthly amount for weekly enrollment, with no extra charge when a month includes five scheduled lessons. Final tuition will be confirmed before enrollment.
How does the first-month offer work?
Families who submit the interest form receive 50% off their swimmers’ first month, including every enrolling swimmer in the qualifying family. Families who have already submitted the form are included. The offer cannot be stacked with sibling/family discounts or referral credits. Family discounts can apply after the introductory month, and referral credits can be kept for use beginning in the second month. Joining the interest list does not guarantee a lesson space.
Are there sibling or family discounts?
Yes. After the introductory month, each additional eligible family member receives 10% off monthly tuition while enrolled together, including teen and adult swimmers. The highest-priced eligible enrollment remains at regular tuition. This discount does not combine with the first-month 50% offer.
Can teens and adults take lessons?
Yes. Teens ages 13–17 and adults ages 18+ can take private or semi-private lessons once enrollment opens. Teen lessons use child/teen private and semi-private tuition; adults use adult pricing. Both beginners and swimmers working on technique are welcome. A parent or legal guardian completes the interest form for a swimmer under 18; adults can inquire for themselves.
How will I keep up with progress and payments?
We plan to use an app where families can view swimmer skill progress and manage lesson payments. Instructors will also keep families informed about what their swimmer is practicing and what comes next. App access will be shared when enrollment is ready; it is not available yet.
Does a parent or guardian need to stay?
For swimmers under 18, a parent or legal guardian must remain on the premises and readily available throughout the lesson, subject to the facility’s requirements.
Does submitting the form reserve a place?
No. The interest list helps us understand demand and share launch updates. The facility, schedule, final tuition, placement, and available lesson spaces will be confirmed separately before enrollment.
